Post #12 First Week of Class- Notes; New Endings for J2

So, my first week of classes was survived. I have 16 units. This is a three day weekend, but still I have to study. I have a test on Tuesday for Japanese 2.

These are my class notes as of this week:

Japanese 1 covered how to say sentences politely. Japanese 2 will cover how to speak informally with friends or others.

N+N (JAP 1) polite           formal  N+N (JAP 2)
です                           --->         (VOID)
では ありません                          じゃない
でした                                          ただ
では ありません でした              じゃなかった

Example;
私 は LACC の 学生 です。 (Japanese one)  watashi wa LACC no gakusei desu

LACC 学生 。 (Japanese two) watashi wa LACC no gakusei. (no "desu" is needed)
You would simply change the polite endings from Japanese 1 to the formal endings from Japanese 2.

What I need to Remember:
N+N

じゃない        (Present, - )
ただ              (Past, +)
