Ch 13: Yes I can! First Chapter of the Semester

Well here we go, I will try to be dedicated this semester to this blog. I am in Japanese 03 this semester.

Chapter 13
This chapter covers how to change verbs into: I can! or I cannot! Ru verbs, U verbs, and irregular verbs are handled differently. I will describe such below:

Ru Verbs
私は たべられる      I can eat私はたべられない   I cannot eat

How to change a ru verb:
たべる ---> たべる
+ Positive: Replace る with られる for "I can"           たべられる      I can eat
-Negative: Replace る with られない for "I cannot"  たべられない   I cannot eat

U verbs
U verbs are not as simple as Ru verbs, where る is dropped. える is added on, but える changes accordingly to the verb, Example;
いく           いける         いけないはなす     はなせる     はなせないかう          かえる         かえないおよぐ      およげる     およげないあそぶ     あそべる     あそべないまつ         まてる         まてないよむ        よめる         しめないとる         とれる         とれないしぬ         しねる        しねない

Irregular verbs

くる こられる こられない

する できる できない
